Certified by Equissage

Do you remember the first time you pulled a muscle or just felt too sore to do anything. Imagine how your horse feels when he is having a tough day. Equine Sports Massage Therapy can benefit your horse in so many ways.

Has your horse, for no reason, been:

  1. Bucking
  2. Stumbling
  3. Kicking
  4. Refusing to pick up the correct lead and/or canter
  5. Tossing his head

Maybe he is trying to tell you he is in pain.

BENEFITS OF MASSAGE

BASICS OF SPORTS MASSAGE

  1. Maintains the entire body in better physical condition.
  2. Aids in preventing injuries and loss of mobility.
  3. Boosts athletic performance and endurance.
  4. Restores mobility to injured muscle tissue.
  5. Extends both the good health and the overall live of the animals athletic "career."

Massage will restore damaged muscles but, more importantly, it will help to prevent damage before it happens.

Undue tension and tightening in any part of the body will reduce the effectiveness of the entire body. A muscle can never be neutral; if it doesn't work for you, it works against you. If your horse is "favoring" a sore muscle, it is using energy to "guard" and "protect." This action hampers the natural design of free-flowing movement. The result is a series of "choppy" movements, rather than one smooth one.
